There has been an important shift in the nature of Iraqi-Egyptian relations as Iraqi governments formed after 2003 tried to restore relations with many Arab countries, including Egypt. Especially, when these relations were going through a state of imbalance, mainly during the era of the Sixties as Egypt agreed to the Rogers Peace Project with Israel until the Seventies era when Egypt signed the Camp David agreement in 1978, which negatively affected the relationship between the two countries. Despite the improvement of these relations during the Iranian-Iraqi war and Egypt’s position of supporting Iraq, this improvement did not last long, as Egypt quickly stood against Iraq after invading Kuwait in the early 1990s, which led to the deterioration of relations between the two countries.
