Abstract

The interest has been increased towards the issues of improving the quality of urban life that it has become a feature of contemporary urban communities for promoting their sustainable future. This requires the integration of economic, social, environmental, physical and psychological domains for the purpose of ensuring a healthy and livable environment.The ultimate aim of the research is to set and measure indicators to assess the quality of urban life in the city of Baghdad depending on the objective and subjective indicators. That had been attained by determining the contrasted spatial (regional) dimensions of the city in order to recognize a formation and building the couple ends of real field of the urban life quality measurement scale in the city. Furthermore, it is intended to identify indicators of relative importance in assessing the quality of urban life spatially by estimating the size of gaps among them, as essential indicators for the purpose of developing future plans for improving the quality of urban life
