The Role of Palestinian Universities in Political Education and its Relation to Students' Attitudes towards the Right of Return

The study aims to identify the degree of appreciation of the sample of university students for their role in political education, and their relation to their attitudes towards the right of return. To achieve this aim, the researcher follows the analytical descriptive method by applying two questionnaires to a sample of 313 students from the fourth level enrolled in the second semester in universities (Al-Azhar, Islamic) for the academic year 2018/2019, The results show that the overall degree of appreciation for the role of universities in political education is at an average level of relative weight (57.5%). The field of political self-formation is ranked first with a relative weight of 60.4% with a relative weight (54.7%), all of which are medium grades.The total degree of appreciation of the respondents' attitudes towards the right of return is moderate at a relative weight (54.9%). (56.3%) and the concept and content of the right of return is ranked in the last position with a relative weight (54.2%), all of which are medium. A statistically indicative positive correlation is found at 0.01 between the degree of the role of universities in political education on the one hand and the attitudes of the sample towards the right of return, where the total correlation coefficient (0.734) The researcher recommends the need for good planning of student activities in universities in order to serve the cause of refugees and the right of return through local effort and electronic publishing.
