تُعدُّ مرحلة الطفولة من أهم المراحل العمرية في حياة الإنسان، حيث تتشكل ملامح الشخصية الأولى وتوضع اللبنات الأساسية للنمو العقلي، والاجتماعي، والعاطفي. ومن هنا، فإن دراسة كيفية اكتساب الأطفال للمفاهيم تُعدُّ موضوعًا بالغ الأهمية، لذا جاء بحثنا بطرح احدى هذه المفاهيم، حيث يهدف موضوع البحث الى فهم حل الصراع للأطفال العراقيين، ومستهدفاً التعرف على: 1. فهم حل الصراع تبعاً لمتغيري: أ. العمر (5, 6, 7) ب. الجنس (ذكور، اناث) 2. التعرف على دلالة الفروق تبعاً لمتغيري: أ. العمر (5, 6, 7) ب. الجنس (ذكور، اناث) وقد شملت عينة البحث (180) طفلٍ وطفلة موزعين على ثلاث اعمار (5-6-7) سنوات، (60) طفل لكل فئة عمرية وموزعين بالمناصفة بين الجنسين. أعدت الباحثة أداة لقياس فهم الأطفال لحل الصراع. وقد تكونت من ثمان قصص يتخللها سؤالين على كل قصة وسؤال نوعي، وقد استخرجت الباحثة الصدق الظاهري. وتحققت من ثبات الأداة عن طريق معامل ألفاكرونباخ وطريقة الاختبار وإعادة الاختبار ونتائج البحث كانت كالاتي: 1. لا يمتلك الاطفال بعمر (5) سنوات فهماً لحل الصراع. 2. يظهر فهم حل الصراع لدى الأطفال بالعمر(6) سنوات. 3. يمتلك الأطفال بعمر (7) سنوات فهم عالي لحل الصراع. 4. لا يوجد هنالك اثر للجنس في فهم حل الصراع. وفي ضوء نتائج البحث الحالي تقترح الباحثة مجموعة من الاستنتاجات التوصيات والمقترحات.
