هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى تعرّف العلاقة بين العدوى الانفعالية لمستخدمي وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي في ظل جائحة كورونا والعجز النفسي لدى عينة من الراشدين في مدينة دمشق، والكشف عن دلالة الفروق وفقاً لمتغير العمر والجنس والمستوى التعليمي في كل من المتغيرين السابقين، وذلك على عينة بلغت (500) ذكراً وأنثى للعام 2020-2021 من مدينة دمشق، وتم استخدام مقياس (العدوى الانفعالية إعداد دوهرتي) ومقياس ( العجز النفسي إعداد ضحى محمود)، وأظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة ارتباطية موجبة بين العدوى الانفعالية والعجز النفسي، ووجود فروق وفقاً لمتغير الجنس في كل من العدوى الانفعالية والعجز النفسي لصالح الإناث، ووجدت فروق وفقاً لمتغير العمر في كل من العدوى الانفعالية والعجز النفسي لصالح مرحلة الرشد المبكر في العدوى الانفعالية ولصالح مرحلة الشيخوخة في العجز النفسي، كما وجدت فروق وفقاً لمتغير المستوى التعليمي في كل من العدوى الانفعالية والعجز النفسي لصالح البكالوريا في كلي المتغيرين.
