Abstract

This research aimed at determining to what extent the content textbook for seventh grade of National Education related to the National Council for Social Studies standards.

      The researcher used analytical descriptive method (content analysis) .By preparing a list of citizenship standards so as to be used as a tool of analyzing for the content of textbook.

      The search resulted in a list of National Council for the Social Studies standards, presented in the domains (social, political, cultural, economic). The results of the content analysis revealed the omission of the content of several standards indicators.

    Based on these results, the researcher recommended that the content must be included in a set of values and skills, and the need to enrich the elements of the content in order to achieve balance in the subjects of the content of text book.
