Abstract

This research deals with the subject of classifying rainy and Botanical regions in Iraq.  Changes in the borders of five regions (Rainy and Botanical), which are: the region of forests, region of wet steppes, region of the dry steppe, region semi-desert, and desert region were studied. They were shown through drawing twelve maps of Iraq that determined these regions. The boundaries of these regions are not stationary, but they shift very clearly. In addition, the study found that the rainy and plant regions in the country are divided into two parts: stationary regions, which exist through all the years; however, they change in their borders, such as semi-desert region. The other part is the non- stationary regions, which disappear in some years and appear in others, such as the steppe (wet), steppes (dry), forest, and finally the desert regions. The changing in the borders of the regions (Rainy and Botanical) in Iraq will lead to the occurrence of intersection between the natural plants in the neighboring regions; this condition will make plants for a particular region to grow within the region of another nearby. The study of changes in the borders of these regions (Rainy and Botanical) will contribute a lot in the scientific investment in various fields.
