مشكلات التمثيل الكارتوكرافي : دراسة تطبيقية على نماذج من خرائط رسائل واطاريح الدراسات العليا في الجغرافية البشرية بجامعة بغداد

Abstract

The map is considered an essential tool for displaying and analyzing geographical information, as it helps convey complex data visually. However, the process of map preparation faces challenges, such as accurately defining elements and choosing suitable representation methods for human phenomena. This research aims to diagnose issues in maps of human geography phenomena, which sometimes suffer from errors in element placement or data representation, affecting spatial distribution and relationship accuracy. Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS) software was utilized to improve map design. The study selected samples from theses and dissertations by graduate students in the human geography department at various University of Baghdad colleges, which lack scientific, technical, and perceptual accuracy. Corrected examples of the selected maps were presented to provide illustrative examples for researchers. The results showed that many maps suffer from errors in element placement and lack details like date and projection, as well as weaknesses in visual design and inaccurate color use. The study recommends enhancing the cartography curriculum in geographic education, organizing training workshops, applying international map design standards, and having maps reviewed by experts before approval.

الملخص

تُُعدُُّ الخريطة أداةًً أساسية لعرض المعلومات الجغرافية وتحليلها، إذ تسهم في توصيل البيانات المعقدة بصريًًا ومع ذلك تواجه عملية إعداد الخرائط تحديات مثل تحديد العناصر بشكل دقيق واختيار أساليب تمثيل ملائمة للظواهر البشرية، ومن هنا جاءت فكرة هذا البحث الذي يهدف إلى تشخيص مشكلات خرائط الظواهر البشرية، إذ تعاني أحيانًًا من أخطاء في توقيع عناصر الخريطة أو عرض البيانات مما يؤثر على تمثيل التوزيعات والعلاقات المكانية. استخدمت الدراسة برمجيات نظم المعلومات الجغرافية ) ArcGIS ( لتحسين تصميم الخرائط، كما تم اختيار نماذج من رسائل وأطاريح طلبة الدراسات العليا في قسم الجغرافية البشرية بكليات جامعة بغداد، التي تفتقر إلى الدقة في تمثيلها العلميّّ والفنيّّ والإدراكيّّ، ثم عرض تصحيح للنماذج المختارة، وذلك لتقديم أمثلة توضيحية للباحثين، وأظهرت النتائج أنََّ العديد من الخرائط تعاني من أخطاء في توقيع العناصر، ونقص في التفاصيل مثل التاريخ والمسقط الجغرا فيّّ، فض الًا عن ضعف التصميم البصريّّ واستخدام غير دقيق للألوان، وتوصي الدراسة بضرورة تعزيز منهج الكارتوكرافية في التعليم الجغرا فيّّ وتنظيم ورش تدريبية، وتطبيق المعايير الدولية في تصميم الخرائط مع مراجعة الخرائط من قبل خبراء قبل اعتمادها.
