Abstract

The current research problem stems from the fact that the researchers are aware that our contemporary life is full of painful events that have affected various groups of society, including "university students", and involving them in social and cognitive challenges; hence it was more influential for them since it is fitted to their age stage, and clarifies the future prospects for them. Moreover, they respond to the surrounding variables more than the other categories do, and that may affect negatively their academic performance. Therefore, the current research aims to identify the level of forgiveness of university students exposed to traumatic pressure, for this purpose, the researchers constructed a scale consisting of (25) items after reading the previous literature and a number of Arab and foreign scales. The researchers also took care to include their sample of university students exposed to traumatic pressure, so they adopted a diagnostic (Foa) scale, by which the students exposed to traumatic stress can be identified. Accordingly, a sample consisting of (502) students was chosen, and after applying the Forgiveness scale, the researchers obtained the answers of (400) students. The results showed that university students had high Forgiveness values, accordingly, the researchers made some appropriate recommendations and suggestions for the results of the research.
